Getting to know you.
A word from my two friends on their first day outside. Unlike me, they don't stare at screens or type on keyboards. Even less likely are they to speak in explicative exaggerations, yet we relate.
The relationship with all human and non-human beings starts with ourselves. When I walk into the midst of my favorite friends, Hippo and Robbie, they instantly guard against my unconscious state. The unconscious state that sees the world unconnected to my well-being. The unconscious state that takes for granted the human and non-human alike. The unconscious state that exists like a loop on an old tape player, the cassette gets rerecorded every once in a while. Updated to the latest affair but it still plays uninterrupted.
I don’t got time for that.
I’ll feed them later.
What was I supposed to be doing?
Why did they say that?
God, the was such a good book.
What do I want to eat tonight?
Why are they so adamant about that?
How could they think that?
They must be just having a bad day.
I couldn’t have said that like that.
I sometimes wonder what it would be like to just BE like my friends Hippo and Robbie. Roaming the yard, always on the watch for predators or their careless human friends. They don’t reason or at least when I look in there eyes, I don’t see that same quality of “wheels spinning” I see in so many others.

I’m hippo, he’s rubbie… we’re just 2 ducks livin’ the simple life. The pepes here are cool, easy to follow. They give us lots of weed. The tall guy says we’ll get a pond one day! I’ll believe it when I see it.
So far, here’s my favorite plant in this place… Rubbie says its a “Noyo Brave”… looks like a bright and shiny rhododendron to me… I’m no genius but I’m pretty sure “Noyo Brave” is not a plant… It’s probably a city somewhere across the pond.

“It’s the botanical name of the plant Hippo!” Gees…

Well the tall guy told me a secret yesterday when we were hangin out under this bright and shiny tree. He said if you pick off the flower, you can suck the nectar! BOY was he right! Wow… my mouth had the same experience as my eyes!
PS. don’t go in the bleeding hearts… there’s snakes…eek!
